Housing Report February 2021

One in nine (11 percent) properties sold for more than the original asking price in February – the highest recorded for the month since 2016. In February, the number of house hunters fell by 20 percent to 388 per estate agent branch.

In February, one in nine (11 percent) properties sold for more than the original asking price, an increase from January when nine percent of properties did. This is the highest figure recorded since August last year and the highest figure for the month of February since 2016. The majority
(57 percent) of properties sold for less than the original asking price in February.

The average number of house hunters registered per estate agent branch stood at 388 in February, which is a decrease of 20 percent from 487 in January. This is the lowest number recorded since June last year. However, it is the highest number recorded for the month of February since 2017.
