Two in five properties sold for more than the asking price in June – the highest ever on record. The supply of properties remains at a low with 19 buyers chasing each property. A number of properties selling for more than the asking price highest on record for the third month in a row.
In June, two in five (40 percent) properties sold for more than the original asking price. This is a jump from May when 33 percent of properties sold for more than the original asking price. This is also the highest figure ever on record, beating last month’s previous all-time record.
The average number of sales agreed per estate agent branch fell slightly to 11 in June, from May’s figure of 12. Year on year, this figure is the highest for the month of June in 4 years, since 2017 when the number of sales per branch also stood at an average of 11 per month, and slightly higher than last year’s figure of 10 during June 2020.
