One in three properties sold for more than the asking price in April – the highest on record. The number of sales agreed reached the highest on record for the month of April. Supply of properties reached the lowest number recorded since December 2002

In April, one in three (32 percent) properties sold for more than the original asking price. This is twice as many properties as in March when 16 percent of properties sold for more than the original asking price. This is also the highest figure on record, beating the previous record of 19
percent in May 2014.

The average number of sales agreed per estate agent branch stood at 12 in April, which is the same as March. Year-on-year, this figure is the highest for the month of April since 2007 when the number of sales per branch stood at an average of 13.

The number of sales made to FTBs stood at 27 per cent in April, which is the same as March.
